At Ravenwood Riding Academy, we offer enriching summer wellness retreats for ages 5-18, combining fun, learning, and healing in a nurturing environment. Our unique programs blend therapeutic horse practices with a variety of wellness activities, catering to both riders and non-riders. Whether your child is experienced with horses or a complete beginner, they will thrive as they learn, explore, and connect with nature.

Morning Routine: Building Responsibility

Each day begins with one hour of hands-on animal care. Participants learn responsibility and teamwork by:

• Feeding the horses.

• Mucking stalls and maintaining the barns.

• Learning the essentials of horse health and care.

This fosters work skills, confidence, and a deep connection to the animals.

Wellness Activities for All Programs

1. Fun Yoga in Nature:

Engage in lighthearted yoga sessions surrounded by flower fields or friendly farm animals, encouraging flexibility, balance, and relaxation.

2. Breathwork & Meditation:

Certified somatic breathwork practitioner Dawn guides participants in learning to breathe deeply, manage stress, and build resilience. These practices are valuable tools kids can use in their daily lives to calm their minds and tackle challenges.

All snacks for the kids provided are healthy and whole foods  again introducing some picky eaters to a more healthy lifestyle. They create paint pots and plant seedlings to take home—a reminder of their retreat experience. Through these activities, children learn about the environment, healthy eating, and creative self-expression.
